Children Programs and Services

The Glocester Libraries seek to connect children to reading by engaging young readers with a wide variety of books, audio-books, DVDs, CDs, and reading kits. The Children's Librarian helps develop a love of reading  with Story Time programs, for children, ages 8 months through Kindergarten. Both libraries offer homework help, provide research assistance for school projects, and, in cooperation with Bryant University, provides free one-on-one tutoring assistance during the school year.

Harmony and Glocester Manton Libraries’ Craft Tables
April 1 through April 30, during library hours
Harmony Library and Glocester Manton Library
Age Level: All Ages – No registration required.
Youth of all ages, discover the indoor craft table at both libraries. Each library is different, so be sure to visit both places.
 
Weekly Take and Make Crafts

Age Level: All Ages - No registration required.
Children of all ages, visit both libraries weekly to pick up a craft! Craft kits will be different at each location. Some kits may require help for younger crafters.
 
Marble Maze – Drop-in Program
Saturday, April 11, 10:30 to 2 p.m.
Glocester Manton Library
Age Level: Ages 4 and up
Explore force & motion and engineering design by making a marble maze. This kit includes a Colossal Set and Rails Extreme Set.
 
Rainbow Fish Story Time
Tuesday, April 14, 5 p.m.
Glocester Manton Library
Age Level: All Ages
Join us for Rainbow Fish Story Time! We will be reading The Rainbow Fish, a classic book by Marcus Pfister. Afterwards, children will be given model magic clay to make their own rainbow fish craft. Younger children may need help from a caregiver. We will be using smaller items for scales and eyes.
 
Guinea Pig Story Time

Xen’s Critters will be joining us with guinea pig friends to meet. We will be reading several story books and making a guinea pig craft. The craft will be a pet rock guinea pig!
 
Superhero Day

Age Level: All Ages
Join us to be a superhero! Make your own cape and mask, do super villain target practice, work on your spidery senses, crack a code, and more!
