Technology Programs at the Glocester Libraries include:

Harmony Library


  • Basic Computing introduces patrons with no previous computer experience to the computer. You'll receive Instruction on starting up and shutting down your computer, using your mouse, and other beginning skills. Learn the first steps towards using your computer.

  • Basic Internet introduces the computer user to the beginning steps of getting "online." Build both your skills and your confidence about internet access. Patrons will learn how to access the Harmony Library homepage from home, and search for materials in the OSL system.

  • Digital Photography introduces patrons with no previous photography experience to using their personal digital cameras. Patrons are asked to bring their camera, its instructions, a removable digital card, and questions for this one-on-one tutorial. Patrons will learn how to load the digital card, be introduced to the menu and its choices, and learn how to upload photos to Adobe Photoshop Elements.

  • eReader Instruction helps you to use your digital device to borrow eBooks from the Ocean State Libraries. You will need an email address, a library card, and a recent digital device. You will have access to a wide variety of eBooks available through eZone. Call the library for an appointment.

  • iPad Club offers iPad owners a systematic way to learn how to use their iPad, focusing on a different topic at each meeting. Share your knowledge with other participants and build your skills in a friendly, supportive atmosphere.

Glocester Manton Library

Free one-on-one tutorials are available for patrons. Instruction is offered in basic Internet research, Microsoft Office applications, and basic digital photography. Tutoring is available by appointment only. Call the library to register at 949-2850.

Technology Tuesday

The Harmony Library offers one-on-one evening sessions for patrons who work during the day. Learn the basics of email, create a Facebook account, and upgrade your Microsoft Office skills.

One-on-One Computer Class

The Harmony Library and the Glocester Manton Library offer one-on-one computer basics in using a computer, setting up an email account, and using Facebook. Drop-in times at the Glocester Manton Library are Monday through Wednesday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Other times are available by appointment. The Harmony Library has Wednesday weekly sessions at 10 a.m.; registration is required.

iPad/Device Basics

At the Harmony Library, you can learn how to use your iPad at a comfortable pace. Bring your iPad and your questions; registration is required.

At the Harmony Library, you can also learn how to use your eReader to borrow eBooks from the Ocean State Libraries; registration is required.
